Clinical Pathways & Health Services Research

How can clinical decisions be made quickly and informed? How can it be ensured that patients receive care in the right place at the right time? These questions are central elements of emergency medicine and form the foundations for the research area Clinical Pathways & Health Services Research.

Our work focuses on diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic pathways, especially in the fields of emergency medicine and critical care. We aim to learn more about how informed decisions are made by both patients and health-care providers. Ultimately, we strive to provide them with the necessary tools and information to improve acute health care.

Our research is based on sound methodological know-how, clinical expertise and a network of local, national and international partners. We participate in the PhD-programme Public Health and form the national centre of the EMERGE research network.
