University Hospital for Emergency Medicine World Class in Research
In April 2017, the Saudi Arabia-based Centre for World University Rankings surveyed the performance of universities in 227 different subjects for the first time and ranked the universities according to the number of top ten places. The data came from Clarivate Analytics, which acquired the Web of Science database at the end of 2016. The Medical University of Vienna is represented in this ranking with as many as two top ten places, one of which is emergency medicine in eighth place.
Teaching is another core element of our activity: every year, first aid, basic and advanced resuscitation measures and basic principles of emergency medicine are taught to medical students in several lectures and practical courses. Training in basic resuscitation measures for staff:inside the entire AKH are also carried out by our department.
